Description

This route runs along the northern mountain slopes of Amorgos, between the Chora and Aegiali areas. Starting from the Chora Voreina district, heading north-west, it crosses the Fonias stream before reaching the chapel of Agia Varvara at Vouni, built on the remains of an ancient watchtower.

A rural track then leads to the small plateau of Terlaki, where the walls of a rectangular classical-Hellenistic tower are embedded in a newer farmhouse, surrounded by large old water tanks. The path continues to the stony area of Leli, passes near the chapel of Agios Georgios, then reaches Richti, where a cluster of old farmhouses, the chapel of Agios Ioannis and a Hellenistic watchtower offer a superb view over the sea and the island of Nikouria.
